A visit to SES at Kapunda

 The SES unit at Kapunda asked AVA to give their volunteers an asbestos awareness session.It was a successful and interactive evening.We presented a video featuring Terry Miller on where to find asbestos in buildings.This was of particular interest as the SES is often called on to make properties safe after wind or fire damage.

We learned that all SES members are volunteers.There are approximately 1700 SES members statewide, spread over 61 units.They assist with search & rescue, traffic accident response and provide assistance to the CFS during fires (directing traffic, road blocks, catering).Our community can be proud of its volunteers.
